Processing of oil-containing waste and tank bottom oil sludge
As part of the modernization of mechanical treatment facilities under the TAZALYQ project at the Atyrau Refinery, our company commissioned a new tricanter facility with a capacity of 30 cubic meters per hour, which enables processing oil-containing waste.
Tricanter is a three-phase centrifuge designed to purify liquid effluents from oil-containing waste and separate them into water, solid particles and petroleum products. All oil-containing waste at the MOS units was pumped out and taken to the landfill before. Now, this unit, makes it possible to extract 30-50% of pure petroleum products from waste by processing and separating solid and liquid phases, reducing the need in their removal by 80%.
"Our main objective is to develop production without damaging the environment". To this end, we launched the "TAZALYQ" large-scale project this year. Constant reduction of pollutants emissions into the atmosphere, complete waste disposal, maximum possible wastewater treatment is a result we strive for.
The most important result from the tricanter introduction is the improvement of the environmental situation not only at the enterprise itself, treatment facilities, but also at the evaporation pond and in the whole Atyrau Oblast.
The commissioning of a modern oil sludge processing unit is another step towards reducing the adverse impact of industrial production on the environment and increasing the level of environmental safety in the region.
